Pastor Jerry

Pastor Jerry was raised in Albany, and graduated from the Albany Academy, Princeton University, Albany Law School, and Luther Rice Seminary.

After serving as an Army Captain in Viet Nam, he joined his father's Albany law firm, serving as a partner for thirteen years. He was active in the New York State Bar Association, serving as an officer and lecturer.

Through the witness of his brother Casey, an evangelist with Reach Out Fellowship in Spartanburg, SC, and his mother, Verna, Jerry received Jesus Christ as His Savior and Lord in 1978.

He spent five years in independent Bible study, aided by the teachings of Pastor Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa, CA. He accepted God's calling of pastor and teacher in 1983. After being ordained by Pastor Chuck Smith and the Calvary Chapel Outreach Fellowships, he started Calvary Chapel of Albany in 1983, with his parents, Pastor Mort and Mother Verna Lynn.

He went on to further his education, receiving the Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Luther Rice seminary.

Pastor Jerry's deep desire is to spread the good news that through Jesus, all can experience His five-fold salvation, spiritually, emotionally, physically, financially, and relationally.
