GOD'S WILL
The Bible says it is God's will to provide health and healing for His children. Health is the absence of sickness, while healing is the removal of sickness. God speaks about our health: Fear the LORD and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones (Pro 3:7-8). Jesus states God's willingness to heal sickness: In My name... [we] will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover (Mk 16:17,18).
GOD'S WISDOM
God realizes that sin brings sickness not only to our spirits, separating us from God, but also to our emotions, bodies, finances, and relationships. God wisely has provided health and healing for our whole being: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, (Ps 103:3). But how can God forgive our sins and heal sin's damaging consequences? God has a way to remove sins and heal sicknesses, and still satisfy His righteousness.
GOD'S WAY
God's way for giving us righteousness for sin and healing for sickness is through His Son, Jesus Christ. At the cross God placed on Jesus all our sins and all the resulting sicknesses in our emotions, bodies, finances, and relationships. Isaiah describes the complete work of Jesus' atonement: Yet it was our sickness that he was bearing, Our suffering that he endured....But he was wounded because of our sins, Crushed because of our iniquities. He bore the chastisement that made us whole, And by his bruises we were healed (Is 53:4-5, Tanakh, The Holy Scriptures).
GOD'S WORD
Jesus carried our sins and sicknesses on our behalf. Confessing God's word about our health and healing will promote faith in our hearts: faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Rom 10:17). Thus through faith we will see our sins and sicknesses on Jesus and be healed.
GOD'S WARNING
If God has provided for believers full health and healing, why are so many of us not experiencing it? God warns us about things that rob us of health and healing in our lives. Among the healing hindrances are Satanic opposition, unbelief, unconfessed sin, disobedience, backsliding, ignorance of God's promises, breaking of God's natural laws (diet, exercise, rest, hygiene), failure to stand and act in faith, and trusting in symptoms and feelings.
These are all problems on our part. God has done His part. Now we must do ours. We must continually confess and believe God's word, and walk in faith and obedience to all His commands. Then we will experience God's full provision for divine health and healing in every area of our lives and for all the days of our lives.
